San Jose Sharks forward Bordello faces injury challenges

The San Jose Sharks have been facing injury problems recently, with forward Thomas Bordello unable to play on a weekly basis due to a lower-body injury. Although initial reports indicated that he might be absent, Max Miller of The Hockey News said Bordello was “close” to starting the regular season on time. This is a pity for Bordello, who had hoped to have his full NHL season with the Sharks.

As the 38th pick in the 2020 NHL draft, Bordello has played most of his time with the AHL affiliate San Jose Barracudas. After signing with the Sharks in 2022, he performed well, contributing five assists in eight games and adding three assists in two games with the Barracudas. Last season, Bordello, who was only 21 years old, scored 22 goals and 41 points in 65 AHL games, which was impressive.

In San Jose, he has six goals and 11 points in 27 games, and while his -18 rating is less than ideal, his advanced statistics show a more positive performance. His -5.3 E+/- ranks in the top five, while his 48.3% CorsiFor% suggests he has the potential to be an effective middle-six player in a stronger lineup, according to Hockey Reference.

Fans are looking forward to Bordeleau’s return, and many are looking for the latest San Jose Sharks jerseys or Custom NHL Jerseys to show their support for the team. The team will re-evaluate Bordeleau in the coming weeks to determine if he can play in the first game, and he is expected to still play an important role in San Jose’s top or bottom six with additional scoring ability.
